Love from Istanbul

Love from Istanbul

Constantinople, Byzantium, Topkapi, and the Bosphorus - these are names that inspire dreams. I finally had the opportunity to visit Istanbul, a city that not only reflects past civilizations but also serves as a fascinating crossroads where West meets East, Europe joins Asia, and diverse cultures and faiths converge.

Haute Victoire is built on travel, cultural diversity, and the dialogue between the old and the new, so I couldn't be more happy being there.

Welcome to Istanbul !

Most visitors to Istanbul begin their journey at the Hagia Sophia, which served as the center of Christianity in ancient times and continues to reveal its treasures today.

Directly across from Hagia Sophia, stands the Blue Mosque, an equally stunning architectural marvel.

However, my favorite site nearby is Topkapi Palace. The residence of Ottoman Sultans for nearly 400 years. The palace features exquisite tiles, sophisticated interiors, and magnificent jewels that compete for your attention.

Another wonderful surprise is the Basilica Cistern, constructed in the 6th century using columns and sculptures from ancient temples.

To relax after sightseeing, I recommend a traditional hamam experience. The Cagaloglu Hamam, built during the Ottoman Empire, is a spectacular setting where you can also enjoy tea and sweets.

Afterward, you might consider dining at Lokanta 1741, located right next door. Nightlife in Istanbul is vibrant with many restaurants, stores opening late and people enjoying evening walks by the Bosphorus.

For museum enthusiasts, the Istanbul Archaeology Museums house one of the world's finest collections from ancient civilizations.

I remember telling a friend that I was saving the Grand Bazaar for my last day, and she mentioned she would personally go every day. Now I completely understand why. You could spend an entire day there and still not see everything. It is truly impossible to leave without a shawl, jewelry, ceramics, or spices - if not all of the above !

Before you leave, a cruise on the Bosphorus is essential to fully appreciate the beauty, scale, and enduring prosperity of this historic city.
