One year ago I had the pleasure to meet Domino magazine creative director Kate Berry who had come to visit my studio and talk about design, art and - of course - jewelry. Out of that meeting Haute Victoire was featured in Domino’s Spring issue 2019 featuring my colorful studio as a place of inspiration, and how my collection of art and decorative objects influence the creation of my jewelry.

Kate had discussed with me how she has been collecting and inheriting rare and unique charms over the years. Each charm possessed interesting and exciting family and historical stories. Though a year has passed, we both finally found the time to begin one of the most exciting collaborations creating a unique necklace centered around her charms intermingled with of Haute Victoire's signature charms like coral, malachite and turquoise.

Each of Kate’s charms embodies a story such as her inherited stunning native American embossed gold coins from the early 1900s; a colorful buddha pendant which had been given to her by friends celebrating a trip to India; two ancient Roman coins hung from an Art Deco brooch from her husband's grandmother, as well as other gemstones that Kate has personally collected over the years.

Assembling our hand chosen charms with a vintage gold chain that Kate had purchased many years ago was an organic and natural process of our joint creativity. The experience with Kate taught me that objects from different eras and cultures speak with each other in an universal language.
